His sense of fairness and dedication to getting the job done has been his hallmark wherever he has served, whether as a city councilman or as an Oakland County Commissioner. Michigan needs Hugh D. Welcome! I am Hugh Crawford and I am a candidate for the Michigan House of Representatives, 38th District.
 
I firmly believe that citizenship is not a spectator sport. For me, that means I have an obligation for public service. As an Oakland County Commissioner, a former Novi City Council member and a lifelong Michigan resident, I am committed to the welfare of our citizens and the future of this great state. My experience in business and government will bring the perspective necessary to focus on the issues and challenges facing the 38th District.
 
My passion for public service is well documented. My track record in getting things done for my constituents speaks for itself. As a Novi City Councilman I oversaw a $14 Million yearly budget. As your County Commissioner, I currently oversee the county’s $600 Million yearly budget. At both levels of government, I have acted responsibly in being a positive influence and in making sure both the city and the county have remained fiscally healthy. Our state’s budget is approaching $43 Billion. I will bring the same fiscally responsible attitude to Lansing.
